stainless steel investment casting Company

A wax pattern is formed that’s similar in dimensions with the final stainless steel metal part to be made. Then a mold is prepared which contains the negative impression of the wax pattern. This mold will be used to make stainless steel metal part of the desired shape and details.

Now, a thin layer of wax is poured in the mold to form its inner lining. This hollow wax copy is then safely removed. The removed hollow wax copy is chased by a hot metal tool, removing any leftover marks. The wax is then dressed to give it a finishing.
Wax copy is sprued with a tree-like structure. This is done to make a path for the molten metal to flow and help the air escape through this thin passage. The sprued wax copy is dipped in the silica slurry & stucco. The whole assembly is then allowed to dry and get harden.

Let us explore what steel investment casting really is all about.

Steel investment casting, or as popularly known, Precision Casting, Lost Wax Casting is a process of manufacturing in which molten metal, which is steel is poured into a mould to produce the required industrial component. Although very similar to other investment casting processes such as sand casting, die casting, etc. Considering the many benefits of steel investment casting, it makes it for a preferred choice for many machine manufacturers.
Steel Investment Casting involves various processes and steps until the final production of a component begins

Pattern Mounting

A wax pattern making is a second step in steel investment casting. One creating patterns takes place. A wax pattern is made by injecting wax into the pattern, whereby a model is generated with exact dimension of the desired end product. This step is repeated for every wax pattern, which is later on assembled one by one onto the spruce to create a wax tree. Depending on the size and configuration of the desired end component, multiple wax patterns may be created using a single tree. The tree is then hung for drying at room temperature.

Stainless steel alloy has many impressive benefits. It displays many impressive qualities, it’s durable and can withstand all weathers, air, and moisture.
Stainless steel castings are used in a variety of applications and the stainless steel alloys come in different grades. Making it the most widely used metal part across different industries.

What Is MicroFusion

To get the precise details in the metal cast designs the process of micro fusion investment casting is used. Even the minutest details in the product design are attainable. The intricacies like – holes, slots, lettering, complex undercuts, and dimensional accuracy can be made by this process. Micro fusion Investment Casting Process  Microfusion investment casting  helps you achieve even the minutest details in the final metal products. The metal casts obtained by using this casting process have all the detailing of complex undercuts and dimensional accuracy with complete precision.  To understand the process completely here’s a brief account of the micro fusion investment casting process and how it’s done to produce high-quality casting products.  Die/Tool Preparation - A tool or die is made with the help of machines and the cavities in the tool are made in the same pattern as the original cast and after that pressurized wax is filled in this cavity to obtain ...

What’s the process of investment casting?

Investment casting is also known as lost-wax casting. It’s a process used by investment casting manufacturers in which a duplicate metal sculpture is made from an original sculpture. Intricate designs and work can be achieved through investment casting. Wax pouring and removal After the mould making is done hot melted wax is poured in the cast to create an inner lining to form an even coating. The hollow wax copy is removed from the mould. Chasing and spruing The hollow wax copy is then chased. In this process, a hot metal tool is used to even out any marks left and the wax is dressed to hide any imperfections to prepare the final finished look. Now, the wax looks like a finished piece. After this, the wax copy is sprued with a tree-like structure that’s meant to provide a path for the air to escape and the molten material to flow. Slurry A sprued wax copy is dipped into the slurry of silica and then sand-like stucco. The shell is prepared and allowed to dry. This process is repeated t...
