What’s the process of investment casting?

Investment casting is also known as lost-wax casting. It’s a process used by investment casting manufacturers in which a duplicate metal sculpture is made from an original sculpture. Intricate designs and work can be achieved through investment casting. Wax pouring and removal After the mould making is done hot melted wax is poured in the cast to create an inner lining to form an even coating. The hollow wax copy is removed from the mould. Chasing and spruing The hollow wax copy is then chased. In this process, a hot metal tool is used to even out any marks left and the wax is dressed to hide any imperfections to prepare the final finished look. Now, the wax looks like a finished piece. After this, the wax copy is sprued with a tree-like structure that’s meant to provide a path for the air to escape and the molten material to flow.
